RSW 2017 again without crews from Bohemia

The Maritime Sailing Association in our RI District 2240 or the Fellowship of the Czech and Slovak Rotary Fleet has already held its seventh annual Rotary Sailing Week 2017 on 26.5.-3.6.2017.
Every year, rising interest in RSW has resulted in record-breaking participation this year. The size of the fleet consisted of 12 charter sailboats, a total of 87 participants, of which 54 were from 13 clubs. For the sake of clarity, we present a RSW2017 attendance list:

The RSW program is free. The crews have the opportunity to meet during the week, to anchor together on the coasts of the islands or in the beautiful coves, to sit in local pubs and taste Croatian specialties. The traditional “non-mandatory” competition was a form of geocaching this year.
Fixed point of the program was a common meeting of all crews in the middle of the week 30.5. In Vodice Marina and a common dinner at the Makina Restaurant. After a brief informal welcome of all participants by commodore Jano Babic of the RC Banská Bystrica Classic, a RSW touring cup was handed over to the victorious crew of Kpt. Ondrej Tuma from RC Opava. There was an extraordinarily sweet dinner, and especially a mutual exchange of experience and unusual cruise experiences. The weight of the organization of the meeting in Vodice lay almost exclusively on Jano Babic, who thus receives the thanks of all the participants.
Part of the meeting was also the board of captains, where we confirmed the program and focus of our fleet for the future. Not only will the Rotary Sailing Week 2018 be organized in a proven format, but also the in-autumn Fleet Meeting. Part of the fleet members are considering taking part in the IYFR Annual Meeting Area1 in Alicante, where they will be able to see the launch of the Volvo Ocean Race. We also regretted that the Czech and Slovak Rotary Fleet fleet has only Slovak and Moravian clubs. We would love to invite Rotarians from Czech Republic among us.
Finally, we remind you that the official communication tool of the fleet is the web site: http://www.rotarysail.eu. Here you will find much more information about our activities.
